Former National Football League All Pro player (and ASU Sun Devil) Dan Saleaumua invites you to the Pro Sports Celebrity Golf Tournament during Super Bowl week to raise money for Dementia research, awareness and support. Dan has partnered with the Kizer family’s FTD Awareness Foundation for this special event.
There are many types of dementia from many sources ranging from trauma induced to illness. The Kizer FTD Awareness Foundation is a non for profit organization (501.c.3) dedicated to shedding light on this ever increasing problem. They are involved because their mother, Yolanda Collazos Kizer, was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia. This disease has no cure and little to no treatment. However, they discovered that commitment to exercise, nutrition, and stress reduction has had a significantly positive impact on overall health of Yolanda.
In order to increase dementia awareness, the family started “The Heart and Sol Wellness Festival” now entering its 2nd annual event on March 7, 2015, visit www.heartandsol.org for more information. Our loved ones, military and former athletes are suffering from a form of dementia at a higher rate so we want to give back and help fight this terrible disease.
